In de nijvere conste

'In de nijvere conste' is a beautiful little needlework shop, located in the Hamburgerstraat in Utrecht. This is where (several years ago) I bought the linen to make the cross-stitched Christmas presents out of that I finally finished last December. Unfortunately this unique shop will be closing after February. The lady who owns the shop is 88 years old, so in a way this comes as no surprise, but the shop will be greatly missed by many needlework lovers, I'm sure. If you enter this shop, it's like you enter a world from a different age. You won't find anything like a PC or laptop here, just beautiful needlework projects displayed everywhere.
This month 'In de nijvere conste' will be open on Saturdays only, from 11 a.m. till 4.30 p.m., and as of March 2015 the shop will be closed.
I went there yesterday, and after much deliberation I bought some kits (2 large ones and 2 small ones) and two types of linen for some future projects.

And here you see the progress on my current cross-stitch project. This was what it looked like last week,

and this is what it looks like now.
