Finished Objects (1): Embroidered Table Cloth

Somehow I just love table cloths, especially embroidered table cloths. I use them whenever I can, even if it inevitably means that they get spilled on, such is life. I love it if I know who made a particular table cloth. We have several in our family that are at least 50 years old. They have been made by various aunts, and I often wish that I knew which table cloth was made by which aunt.
I like to embroider table cloths myself too, and once I've finished another one I usually add my name, the date, and sometimes some additional information, just in case somebody would like to know who made this table cloth fifty plus years from now...
The small embroidered table cloth that you see on the first photo's was made my my youngest sister's late grandmother-in-law.

The embroidered table cloth that I recently finished, was the one that I bought in Cochem (Germany) last year during our summer vacation there. I started working on it on the wonderful balcony of our apartment there, and I finally finished it earlier this month.
I'm really pleased with it, and I'm glad that I have this new embroidered table cloth to add to my small collection, and I hope that I can use it often.

I've done quite a bit of knitting recently, and I've also been embroidering on other projects, but I'll show that later. I had fully intended to do some sewing too, but none of that has happened. Yet.

@ Miriam: ik hoop dus maar dat mijn naaimachine het nog doet; ik ging daar zo maar van uit, maar je weet het inderdaad maar nooit...
