Colourful Project # 2 - 'Mexican Tree of Life' by EmilyPeacockTapestry

I am making good progress with my Colourful Project # 1 (the 'Staccato' cardigan by Kirsten Kapur). The back, the front and the sleeves are finished, and I am now working on the hood. I hope that in next post I will be able to show you the finished product, and I'd love to start wearing it.

In the meantime, I would like to show you my Colourful Project # 2, which - as you can see - is an embroidery project. It is called the 'Mexican Tree of Life' (for obvious reasons) and it's by EmilyPeacockTapestry. I ordered it from her Etsy shop, where you will find many more beautiful kits. This project will take a lot more time than Colourful Project # 1, but it is certainly very colourful, and I love working on it.

Colourful Project #1 - 'Staccato' by Kirsten Kapur

I very much felt like working on some colourful projects, so this is the first colourful project that I recently started. I wanted to knit something that was colourful and comfortable, and that would be easy to get on and off, so I chose this pattern ('Staccato') for a hooded cardigan, by Kirsten Kapur. I'm using Cascade 220 for it, that I bought at Penelope Craft some time ago. I prefer to knit the pieces separately, so I figured out how to do that, based on the Staccato pattern. Also I'm deciding how wide to make each stripe and which colour to use as I go, I'm not using the pattern for that. And I decided to make the sleeves shorter than the pattern calls for, otherwise I think that the sleeves would have been to long for me. I'm really enjoying this project and I love working with all these colours. I'm on the second sleeve now (the back, the front, and the first sleeve are already done), so I'm making good progress and I hope to be able to show you the finished result soon.
